The Goblin's Daughter by Krystal George Book Review

The Goblin's Daughter
Krystal George

Book Description

Change.

It wasn’t a concept that Gianna has had to deal with over the years. She was used to being the center of attention. That was until Sophia and Drew showed up on the island and ruined things. Now everything has changed.

With Mitch gone and Celeste not on her side, Gianna begins to feel darkness creeping into her light, causing shadows and doubts to poison everything she has ever loved. Finding new friends isn’t always the answer, especially when her new friends aren’t what they appear to be and know more about her than they should.

In a world where trust doesn’t come easy and power can be used for good or evil, Gianna must struggle to find her place. Is it on the island that she feels is a part of her, or with a father she has never known? Will she give up everything for a taste of that power? And if she does… which side will win her heart?

My Thoughts

I did not see this plot coming at all! I loved this story, Gianna's story was so intense, tragic, and a page turner. There were other character twist's that I never saw coming.  This was a great read that I was constantly surprised with. Gianna really had to work through some really dark things to find herself and really find her true calling and that was really intriguing to read about. I would recommend this book to every paranormal reader out there.

My Thoughts

This was one tragic, heart wrenching, tale of love lost and love found. The complexity of the characters was brilliant. Krystal captures the reality of military life and the families of those living military life. My heart ached for her characters, I just wanted to help them through the whole book, but what a beautiful story it was. I couldn't put it down I needed to see what happened. The plot was definitely thick with twists and turns, things I never saw coming and things I did not want to see coming. 'Wounded' was a brilliant, read and I highly recommend it.

Saving A Legend By Sarah Robinson Book Review

Saving A Legend: A Kavanaugh Legends Novel

Sarah Robinson

Book Description

His family’s gym has produced a roster of mixed martial arts legends, but so far Kieran Kavanagh hasn’t followed in their footsteps. After a brawl lands him in jail, Kieran is assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth. Though given a second chance, Kieran’s simply going through the motions—until he meets one very special kid, Shea Doherty, and falls hard for her very beautiful, very grown-up big sister, Fiona. The trouble is, Kieran’s best opening moves are getting him nowhere fast.

Fiona Doherty has too many responsibilities to fool around, especially now that she has custody of Shea. Sure, she’d love to find a devoted partner. But she won’t jeopardize her sister’s happiness—or risk revealing her tortured past—on a love-’em-and-leave-’em type of guy like Kieran . . . so it’s up to him to prove her wrong. As Fiona spends more time with Kieran, she starts to see a softer side of the reckless warrior. Now she must admit that when it comes to the possibility of real love, well . . . there’s a fighting chance.

End As An Assassin by Lex Lander

End As An Assassin
Lex Lander

Book Description

THIS TIME IT’S NOT FOR MONEY.
THIS TIME IT’S FOR BLOOD, PURE AND SIMPLE.

André Warner is a professional killer, ex-British Secret Service. Thirty-nine contracts have made him a wealthy man, and his fortieth is to be his last.

The hit goes smoothly enough, and the victim – a degenerate drug baron – is dispatched with minimal fuss and no traces left to incriminate Warner. He drives off into the sunrise to hang up his gun and retire to his home in Geneva.

Then into his life comes Gina, a hauntingly beautiful divorcee, fugitive from a bad marriage. The timing is perfect, coinciding as it does with Warner’s new beginning. They soon become lovers, and all seems set fair for a life together.

Their idyll is shattered when a former associate turns against Warner, and he faces exposure and arrest. Accompanied by Gina, he flees his Geneva home, only to run from the clutches of the Swiss police into the far deadlier embrace of a Marseilles crime syndicate whose boss has a score to settle on behalf of Warner’s last victim. Suddenly Gina is at risk through her association with him, and in trying to protect her he only makes matters worse.

His retirement plans in shreds, his life on the line, Warner is forced to stage a comeback. Only this time it’s not for money. It’s for blood, pure and simple.

My Thoughts

This book was a quick read, had a very interesting plot. Lex Lander wrote some very intriguing characters, and I really enjoyed reading about them and being apart of their adventure. 'End As An Assassin' was an action packed, adrenaline filled, adventure.
I would have liked to see a bit more clarity and brevity in some parts because I felt like it was too jumpy in some part.
Other than that it was a very enjoyable read and I felt like I was right there with the characters in the heat of the action.
I'm interested to see what else Lex Lander has to offer.

Will the news from her doctor finally set her free and allow her to truly live? Or will the verdict only cause her to give up completely?

My Thoughts

Let me begin this review by saying you better grab a box of tissues before you begin this book, because you are going to need them. ‘To My Loves’ is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read. Peyton is such a strong, brave, beautiful woman and a character I am sure many people will look up to and relate to. She has been dealt one hell of a hand in life, but she deals with it in such a heroic way. Life just keeps trying to push Peyton over but she tackles everything life throws at her, fighting fire with fire.

Jen Cousineau’s writing is beautiful, emotional, motivational, and powerful. I couldn’t put it down. ‘To My Loves’ made me cry, laugh, and learn so much about my own life that I could never even begin to express my gratitude for. I thought Jen’s characters were strong, relatable and captivating.

The plot line was immediately addictive and pulled me in. ‘To My Loves’ was a brilliant, captivating, emotional masterpiece that pulled at the heart strings and upped the stakes on plot twists. I cannot wait to read more from Jen Cousineau.

*This story contains strong sexual themes for insatiable appetites and is not recommended for readers under the age of 18.*

My Thoughts
This was a great ending to a really magically series. I feel like it really wrapped up all the loose ends and gave us a really strong, solid ending that left us feeling whole. I thought the ending fight was very climatic, it wasn't rushed, it wasn't predicable, it was refreshing, and action packed. It had the highly anticipated Ashlee Sinn sizzle we all crave so I was not disappointed on that end and the character got a ending that was realistic. I loved it so much. I read it in one sitting and I am truly sad it is over. I cannot wait to see what else Ashlee Sinn has in store for us.
