In My Soul by Kayleigh Michelle Book Review

In My Soul by Kayleigh Michelle Book Review

Book Description

In My Soul is Kayleigh Michelle's third poetry collection.

My Thoughts

'In My Soul' was a beautiful collection, the words jump right off the pages and hit you in your own soul. I loved the poems in the collection, it felt like Kayleigh was sharing such a huge part of herself inside these pages. This is a collection I will read time and time again. I love the way in which she writes these incredibly important poems. Highly recommend.

Synthetic Love by Christina Hart Book Review

Synthetic Love by Christina Hart Book Review

Book Description

Alan Shaden may look like your average Tinder crush – 6’2”, dark hair, dark eyes, dimples – but with his rugged exterior comes a soft and battered heart, and his biggest secret (literally), which he keeps hidden in the back of his closet.

Alan doesn’t stop to think he’s a sex addict until a therapist deems him one, but that’s right before they have sex in her office. Alan isn’t the best man. He’s the first to admit it, but he’s trying to be better. It’s not easy having good intentions and compulsive desires at the same time.

As Alan’s layers peel away, you come to know the worn soul beneath the man. The traumatic childhood tragedies that have made him this way. A troubled past can shape you, or break you, and Alan is teetering somewhere in between. But he’s a gentleman at heart, hiding a dark past, and a life-size, synthetic secret.

Sabrina is a doll. She can’t move. She can’t talk. She can’t kiss Alan back like a real woman can. She can’t even tell him she loves him. But what she can do for him is something no woman has ever done before: she can stay. Who said love had to be with a real person for it to be real?

My Thoughts

'Synthetic Love' was not a typical read, which is one of the reasons I was drawn to it. I like to read a wide variety of books and this one was not a disappointment. It was not a typical love story and I loved it. Not only was the story engaging and the characters beautifully created, but I also think it shed light on some darker issues a lot of people deal with. There is really something about Christina's writing that just pulls you in and keeps you there glued to it. Great book and I recommend everyone give it a read.

Cover Reveal for I Like You, I Love Her by J.R. Rogue

Guys I am so excited to be a part of this beautiful cover reveal! I Like You, I Love Her is the new release from J.R. Rogue. It's such a beauty and I cannot wait to read it!

SYNOPSIS

In a lot of ways, I was one of the lucky ones. My high school crush liked me back. It should have been magic and fire, but it was tragic and brutal. I wrote it that way, anyways.

His name was Bryan Winthrop. He was our high school basketball star. The prom king. The most beautiful boy I had ever laid eyes on. He liked me — the theatre geek who never should have caught his eye — but he loved her.

It’s been more than 10 years since the homecoming dance. Since the night he kissed me, breaking both of our hearts for the first time.

After the scandal, after graduation, I left our small town and made a name for myself on Broadway, then in Hollywood. I didn’t mean for the play I wrote about our high school affair to blow up. I didn’t mean for it to reach all the way back to my roots, wreaking havoc, wrecking families.

Bryan Winthrop and I were not friends, not lovers.

But I’m back. And for one summer — if she lets us — maybe we can be.

'For Now' Book Review

For Now
Kat Savage

Book Description

Delilah Spencer is broken. Alone and starting over in her best friend's city is just what life calls for right now. She has a violent and painful past to put behind her and a lot to do to move on with her life. She has no intention of letting anyone get close anytime soon. Maybe ever.

Samuel Young used to be broken. Now, the single father accepts his past for what it is, raises his son Mason, and is trying to find some happiness. And while he thinks he's found that in Delilah, she's not sold.

As the two begin to push and pull, Delilah finds herself on the receiving end of strange happenings.

In a world where everyone has a past, what happens when they collide? Is the future shaken? Can they overcome it or will it rob them once again of what they deserve?

Can love survive when a heartache from your past intertwines with your present?

My thoughts

‘For Now’ by Kat Savage blew me away. For a while now I have been in a stagnant reading cycle where nothing was catching my attention, but Delilah from ‘For Now’ took my attention and ran with it. She was such an intriguing and captivating character. The story of Delilah and Samuel and the struggles that they faced both alone and together was so very moving and heart wrenching. It was written in such a beautiful tone and flowed so smoothly. I couldn’t put it down; this will be a book that I turn to again and again. I couldn’t get the characters out of my head for days. I highly recommend it.
